Steps to Register -- Students First Time Only

1. Print this page and follow the instructions. Checking them off as you complete them.

2. Click on "Link to Registration Page".

3. Click on "Alamo Community Colleges."

4. Click on the View Course List box (do not sign into Blackboard Vista yet.)

5 Select “PAC” from the Division list.

6. Click on “library” from the Group Title list.

7. Click on the green arrow next to Research.

8. Click on the “person” icon under “Actions.”

9. Register for the IRC program with your PALS ID User Name and Password, or Register for the MLA workshop.

10. Go to “my Blackboard” to begin taking the course.

11. Click on the link "Research - IR Certificate Program.

(If you do not arrive at the proper page, you may want to try the longer version which some people's IDs require.)

12. You should now be on the Course Content yellow page. You may encounter a pop-up welcoming you to the program. Read and then close it.

13. Click on "Read First" in the yellow area. Then follow the numbers of the modules. Remember you need to get a 70 or better to pass each quiz. There are seven quizzes.

14. FINDING YOUR GRADES: Look to the far left of your screen. Note that you are currently in "Course Content." (If you cannot see the menu, click on the Triangle and Bar symbol on the left and the menu will open.) To find your grades, go down to MY TOOLS on the far left. The first link is "My Grades".

15. To continue working, click back on the top link at the far left "Course Content."

16 When you try to return to work further on this program, you will receive a message that you are already registered. The following explains how to get in after the first time:

Steps to Sign In -- Students After First Time

1. Link to Registration Page

1a. Click on the link "Alamo Community Colleges."

2. You are now on the registration page. You will use the large "Log In" box at the very top left.

Your "User Name" is your PALS ID

Your "Password" is the first two letters of your last name, capitalized, and the last six digits of your social security number. Hit Enter.

3. Click on the link "Research - IR Certificate Program."

4. You should now be on the Course Content yellow page. Click on "Read First" in the yellow area, or click on whatever module number comes next for you. Remember you need to get a 70 or better to pass each quiz. There are seven quizzes.

Steps to Register -- Faculty
(Not Working Yet)

1. Link to Registration Page (You are being opened in a new Web page so that you can sign in and read the instructions at the same time. To move between the two pages, hold down Alt and hit the Tab key).

1a. Click on the link "Alamo Community Colleges."

2. You are now on the registration page. Use the large "Log In" box at the top left.

Your "User Name" is your PALS ID

Your "Password" is the first two letters of your last name, capitalized, and the last six digits of your social security number. Hit Enter.

3. Click on link "Research - IR Certificate Program.

4. Use the "Teach" tab to check on your students' progress.
