Alamo Colleges will work 4-day weeks in Summer
Summer is fast approaching and just as last year, the Alamo Colleges will implement a 4-day workweek for the months of June and July – from June 4 through July 27.
As it was last year, the following will take place as part of implementing the 4-day work week:
- Work hours will be between 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday – Thursday, except for certain programs already committed to operate on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.
- Employees will be assigned to 10-hour workdays; department management will be responsible for the assignment of specific work hours. Normal operating hours will remain in place (8am – 5pm).
- Vacation/sick/personal leave will be used according to the number of hours absent from work. Example: Using vacation time for an entire day will deduct 10 hours from your vacation leave balance.
Supervisors and employees are expected to exercise utmost flexibility, reasonableness and good business judgment to ensure student success and employee engagement is maintained.
