What is my four digit Personal Identification Number (PIN)?

A students initial PIN is the month and year of your birth (MMYY). EXAMPLE: If your birthday is July 10, 1980, your four digit PIN is 0780. A zero must precede all single-digit numbers Students will be prompted to change their PIN once a year it must be numeric. Student's will also be prompted to submit a security question in the event that a PIN is forgotten. (Back to top)

What is my student identification (ID) number?

Your student ID number is your 9 digit social security number or your assigned a number issued by Admissions and Records. If you have forgotten the assigned number you can go to Admissions and Records office (FAC 216) with picture identification to retrieve your assigned number. (Back to top)
 

Which transcripts will I need to submit to San Antonio College?

FIRST TIME STUDENTS

Individuals who have never attended an accredited college or university

High School Graduates - You are required to submit an official high school transcript indicating date of graduation.
General Education Development (GED) recipients - You are required to submit an official completed and passing copy of your GED scores.

TRANSFER STUDENTS

Individuals who have attended or are attending another accredited college or university.

Not seeking a degree/certificate from SAC - You are required t6o submit a complete and official transcript from the last college or university you attended or are attending and any transcript which lists pre-requisites for courses you want to take at SAC.
Seeking a degree/certificate from SAC - You will be required to submit complete and official transcripts from all accredited colleges and universities attended before your degree/certificate is awarded. (Back to top)
 

Do I have to wait to receive a bill before I pay my tuition and fees?

San Antonio College does NOT send out tuition bills. It is each student's responsibility to make payment by the appropriate deadline. Please refer to the class schedule for payment deadlines or online. (Back to top)

Will I receive my grades in the mail?

No, San Antonio College does not mail report cards. You may retrieve and print your grades via the Alamo Community College District Student Information Access Web site. Grades are available via the telephone grading system at (210) 301-2520. Student Information Access (Back to top)

what is a prior student hold and how do I have it cleared from my record?

A prior student hold on your record means that you have attended San Antonio College (SAC) but have not enrolled within the last year or that you applied for admissions to SAC but did not attend. A prior student hold can be cleared off you record by applying for admissions for the appropriate semester. (Back to top)

How do I get a SAC transcript?

Individuals who did not attend San Antonio College (SAC) prior to 1984 can request their transcripts online at Student Information Access. Individuals who attended SAC prior to fall 1984 can order their transcripts by completing the appropriate form (and include copy of picture identification) from the Admissions and Records Web site. Please remember that this form must be printed and faxed, mailed or brought into Admissions and Records office. FAX: (210) 733-2579, MAILING: Admissions and Records 1300 San Pedro San Antonio, TX 78212. Every effort is made to fulfill requests within three business days. Request made in person at Admissions and Records (FAC 216) can normally be fulfilled immediately if the requester presents picture identification. This service is free. (Back to top)
 

Can someone else pick up my transcript?

Yes, you may send a trusted individual to pick up your transcript. That person will be required to provide a written statement from you allowing them to retrieve your transcript. The written statement should include your full name, social security number or student ID number and signature. The individual will also need to provide picture identification and a copy of your picture identification. (Back to top)

How do I drop a class?

You may drop your class prior to the census date via telephone (210) 301-2520 or online at Student Information Access.
After the census date students can contact their instructor to withdraw them online. (Back to top)

What is Academic Fresh Start and how do I apply for it?

Senate Bill 1321 "right to an academic fresh start" entitles residents of Texas to seek admission to public institution of higher education without consideration of All courses undertaken 10 or more years prior to enrollment. You can request an appointment to apply for an academic fresh start by calling (210) 733-2589. (Back to top)
 

If I repeat a course will the better grade automatically replace the lower grade?

No, the most recent grade you earned will count towards your GPA. In some instances the most recent grade earned is not the better grade. If this is the case you will need to complete and submit a request for GPA Update form. GPA are done at the beginning of each semester. (Back to top)

What is a faculty advisement hold?

Students who have declared a major within the Professional and Technical Education division will have faculty advisement holds. Professional and Technical Education departments require each of their students to be advised before registration for each semester. Students can have this hold waived each semester by their department advisor. (Back to top)
