Before you go any further, you have to print the syllabus for your biology class. So, click right now Printouts. Look for your instructor's name and print his/her syllabus before you go to class. We, faculty and staff from the BioSpot Center (BSC), welcome you to our website. (See the names of our staff members below.) The BSC is located in Chance Academic
Center (CAC), rooms 350 and 352 at San Antonio College. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Friday
from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. (Note: Before coming to the BSC from somewhere far away, please, call 733.2039 to make sure that the Center is
opened. Although rare, sometimes a sudden illness can happen and we are forced to close earlier.) Our facility provides
students with microscopes, microscope slides for reviewing the exercises that are performed in the labs; VCRs and DVD players,
and over 350 titles in video/DVD to reinforce concepts learned in class; preserved specimes for dissection; plastic models, textbooks,
and scientific journals. A validated SAC photo ID is required to check out materials. Items are identified with code numbers.
Make sure you copy that Item Code when request materials from the Student Assistant at the front desk. Annexed to the BSC, in room CAC-335
(but with entrance through the BSC), we have the Biology Computer Lab (BCL).
The BCL houses 31 computers for students and faculty use. There are more than two dozen computer programs on biology concepts
plus Internet access. Classes are scheduled here. The
student can use a computer on individual basis.
