Who:
Motivated, talented, energetic, physically fit and at least 21 years of age on the first day of the program
What:
A U.S. Park Ranger is the protector of our National Parks. They "Protect the People from the Park, the Park from the People, and the People from the People." They do this through Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, Structural Fire Fighting, Wildland Fire Fighting, and Search and Rescue.
When:
February 4, 2013 through June 13, 2013
Phase I 2/4/2013 through 2/22/2013
Phase II 2/25/2013 through 3/22/2013
Phase III 3/25/2013 through 4/19/2013
Phase IV 4/22/2013 through 6/13/2013
Where:
San Antonio College - Continuing Education
Why:
Upon successful completion of the program, students receive a Seasonal Law Enforcement "Certificate of Completion" that is recognized by the National Park Service and are then eligible for hire as a U.S. Park Ranger with a Level II Commission.
Requirements:
Students must meet the following requirement in order to qualify for the Program:
- Must be at least 21 years of age on the first day of the program
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must possess a valid state driver's license
- Must have a clear criminal history
- Must be in good physical condition
- Must complete the application process before enrolling in the program
