Counseling Services


Personal Counseling

Counselors are available to also assist you in personal matters. Consultations are kept confidential. We are aware that personal matters may affect your educational goals and our counselors are here to offer an outlet to help you. Please be aware that some counseling issues may not be appropriate for online discussion. Should you require personal counseling, we recommend that you walk-in to the Counseling Center or make an appointment for videoconferencing.

When necessary, Counselors can help students obtain referrals to community agencies and resources not provided at San Antonio College.

Career Services

Counselors will assist you to determine the degree plan in which to obtain your career choice. If you would like to research career choices visit Career Services.

Degree Planning

Utilizing the San Antonio College Bulletin/Catalog or Transfer Articulation Agreements, counselors will guide you through the course work necessary for graduation and or transferring to a four-year university or college.

Student Development

Counselors teach Student Development courses 0170, 0171, and 0370. The SDEV courses are designed to assist students to acclimate to college life. In addition, it provides students with learning skills to enhance their learning processes/time in classes.

Transfer Information

The counselors utilize the Transfer Center to provide different avenues to obtain degree information from other colleges and universities in the state of Texas and throughout the country.
