Literary Response #2: You will become Pharaoh, the god of the Egyptians in this response. In the voice of Pharaoh, write a proclamation (which Pharaoh would have delivered to a crowd of Egyptian people) to the people of Egypt in which you (Pharaoh) announce your decision to free the Israelites. Remember the audience you are addressing and your position as Pharaoh, the infallible godlike ruler. Literary Response #2 is due on the date specified in the syllabus

A literary response is a creative piece of writing. You are imitating the style or the topics found in the Bible, but are creating your own connections, becoming the person in the Bible. These literary responses are fairly short, ranging from half a page to two pages. You do not document these papers because they are your own creative writing. You will become the character in the Bible, and write as if you were that person. You will, however, follow the proper grammatical and syntactical conventions of modern, American English. You will use MLA format for the papers.
