Course Evaluation:
Grades are based on student written documents, research work, attendance, and participation.

Grades:

Literary Responses (7): 50 points each (total 350)

Essay #1—Old Testament Research Paper: 250 points

Essay #2—New Testament Research Paper: 300 points (30 points deducted for lack of participation in discussion following posting for Internet students)

Attendance and Participation: 100 points

Possible Extra Credit Literary Response: 50 points

Orientation: 10 points bonus

 

1000-900=A; 899-800=B; 799-700=C; 699-600=D; 599-0=F

Attendance will be awarded according to class participation.

 

To know your current grade at any time, subtract the number of points you have lost from 1000. That means that if you have done 2 literary responses and received 45 and 43 on them, you have lost 12 points. Your grade is 988, still an A. The major grades are the research papers, since those indicate that you are working independently to learn more about a subject you are interested in, researching carefully and in depth, then writing an excellent paper (write, revise, edit, proofread) to share with the Professor and other students.
