| What is the English As A Second Language program? |
The English as a Second Language Program (ESLA) at San Antonio College offers stimulating and challenging courses to motivated students from around the world. All faculty have Master's and/or Ph.D. degrees from prestigious universities and average twenty years of teaching experience at the college or university level.
The ESLA series provides four levels of English study. Each level consists of four courses with a rigorous and intensive presentation of the academic listening, speaking, reading, writing, and grammar skills necessary for you to pass entrance exams and placement tests and to be successful in your college classes. In addition to the four levels of English, the program offers a series of courses - English for Academic Purposes (ENGA) in composition, grammar and reading which prepare students for college level work.

Students who finish the program are highly successful in college classes. Furthermore, successful completion of the ENGA program guarantees you entry into college classes at SAC and in many cases, subsequent automatic transfer to many prestigious four-year universities.
