Highlights of ACCD - Kukulcan study abroad Summer program :
- STUDY Spanish and Mexican history and traditions at a first-rate language school…Kukulcan.
- EARN between 7 to 8 credits from SAC. Select two of the following classes: SPAN 1411, 1412 , 2311.
- IMMERSE yourself in Mexican culture in a beautiful, colonial town… Cuernavaca.
- ENHANCE your knowledge, values, and skills for bilingual and bicultural practice.
- GET FAMILIARIZED with the Mexican folklore and culture.
- ENJOY half-day excursions to surrounding cultural & historical areas.
- LIVE with a Mexican family and gain skills that will help you to communicate in Spanish.

Unique benefits: At the end of this intensive program blending language courses, cultural exposure and guided field trips, the participants will be able to:
A) Language: Develop conversational skills in the shortest possible time.
B) Culture: Demonstrate an appreciation and sensitivity to the unique cultural beliefs, practices, and values of the Mexican culture by living with a carefully chosen Mexican family, participating in daily lectures and workshops.
Cost: 4 weeks of immersion: $1600 US + SAC tuition and fees for the number of credits required (7 to 8).
What is included: Daily classes in Spanish and Mexican culture at Kukulcan (30+ contact hours a week), course materials, accommodations with a host family in double room occupancy, three meals a day, daily transportation to school, ground transfer México City-Cuernavaca-México City, once a week half-day excursions to Cuernavaca’s cultural sites and wireless internet access at Kukulcan (when the student brings a lap-top). If single room occupancy is desired an additional charge of $50US per week must be considered.
What is not included : Roundtrip transportation ( San Antonio – México City), medical insurance while abroad, daily transportation from school to accommodations and personal expenses (laundry, snacks, entertainment, shopping, etc).
Cultural events: Half day excursions on Fridays to local cultural and recreational sites.

Payment schedule: A $200US deposit is due by Feb. 13 th to Prof. Tammy Perez. Contact her for details on how to do this deposit and to obtain the payment schedule for the outstanding balance.
Financial aid: All customary ACCD financial aid and scholarships can be applied to the cost of this program. Remember they are distributed on students’ qualifications and are competitive. Alternative financial opportunities are available. Contact us for details.

ADA statement: Since buildings in Mexico are not accessible for students who cannot climb flights of stairs, those students cannot be accommodated by the Emergence Program in Mexico, but can be accommodated by the Spanish 1411, 1412 and 2311 courses offered during the summer sessions.
