. History 1301 is a general survey of United States history from the discovery of America through 1877. It satisfies one-half the legislative requirement of six semester hours in American History. ** Blended sections of History 1301 are held on-campus and online. The term blended designates a course format that is part face-to-face in the traditional classroom and part online in the virtual classroom. There will be twelve (12) face-to-face class sessions on-campus, see the appropriate calendar link below. All other course work, to include bulletin board discussions, assignment submissions, quizzes and exams, will be completed online Blackboard Vista (BbV) Learning Management System Tools. HIST 1301 surveys United States History from the era of discovery through the American Civil War and the Reconstruction decade. The intent of this course is to engage students in the process of historical analysis - to train you to think like an historian. Each of you will be challenged to think about history in new and different ways.
