Internationalizing United States History Part 1 ~ online
& Teaching with Online Tutorials:
Bringing Scholar Voices into the Classroom
Carol A. Keller

Technology does not in itself cause anything -- what counts is how people use it.

Welcome to Internationalizing United States History Part 1 ~ online, and  Teaching with Online Tutorials: Bringing Scholar Voices into the Classroom, session web site. The information on this page is intended for faculty interested in internationalizing curriculum. The most difficult part is often just getting started. The PowerPoint slides linked below provide information and links to additional materials. The first set focuses on the infusion of international materials into a HIST 1301 course. The second set of slides is a presentation of a new online tutorial on the Mongols. The Mongol tutorial was developed during  "Explorations in Empire," Seminar Fellowship at the Library of Congress, 2001. Sponsored by the Community College Humanities Association, American Historical Association, the Library of Congress, and funded by the Ford Foundation.

The session intent is to offer a model for internationalizing history courses, as well as to encourage incorporation of online tutorials in World History or related courses.
