Academic OneFile [GaleGroup] Includes many mainstream and specialized sources to support research across virtually all academic disciplines plus many peer-reviewed, full-text articles in HTML or PDF format. Also includes the text from the New York Times newspaper back to 1995. The content of database Expanded Academic ASAP, formerly a separate database, is in this database.

Academic Search Complete [EBSCO] Contains indexing for 9,810 publications, with full text for more than 5,300 of those titles. PDF backfiles to 1865 are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles. Academic Search Complete contains full text coverage in biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, psychology, religion & theology, etc.

American Periodical Series Online, 1740-1900 [ProQuest] Digitized reproductions of more than 1,000 18th and 19th century newspapers and periodicals, useful in the study of U. S. History, American literature, and journalism.

eLibrary Curriculum [Chadwyck-Healey] Articles from magazines, newspapers and journals plus transcripts for media broadcast programs, maps and other quick reference resources. The articles include an assessment of the reading level. Originally titled Electric Library, then BigChalk, and now eLibrary Curriculum.

HAPI Online [UCLA] Online version of the Hispanic American Periodical Index. Indexes over information on Latin America from over 400 international journals in the social sciences and humanities. Covers from 1970 to present day.

Index to Texas Magazines and Documents [Victoria College/Univ. of Houston at Victoria Library] A free index to selected magazines and documents published in Texas from January, 2000 to present. No full text is available in the Index, however, indexing records frequently include the URL for the article being indexed. Use the "Journal Locator" link on our home page to determine whether or not a publication is available either in the library or in one of our full text databases.

Informe! [GaleGroup] (Revistas en Español) ­ Specifically designed to meet the research needs of Spanish speaking users, this database has full text articles from such popular magazines as Latina, Actual, and Siempre!, as well as the full text of the Miami, Florida newspaper El Nuevo Herald. The database contains many articles on such subjects as cultural and lifestyle issues, health and parenting, entertainment, politics and current events. Searches can be made in both English and Spanish, with title names shown in both languages. Dropped from TexShare's core databases as of July 1, 2005; no longer available.

JSTOR [JSTOR] A searchable, printable, electronic backfile of important scholarly journals delivering in high quality images of journal articles in PDF format. Coverage usually stops from 2 to 5 years prior to the current year depending on the "moving wall" agreed to by each journal's publisher. Subjects included in SAC's subscription: African American Studies, Anthropology, Asian Studies, Ecology, Economics, Education, Finance, History, Language & Literature, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Population Studies, Sociology, & Statistics.

LexisNexis Academic [LexisNexis] International in scope. Includes news, business and company information, health, legal cases/articles, Federal and State laws, and Federal regulations, and reference information. Full-text for most items.

MasterFILE Premier [EBSCO] Designed specifically for the Public Library, MasterFILE Premier offers informationon a broad variety of subjects, including general interest, multi-cultural, business, and much more. Searchable full text for over 1,820 journals, including Consumer Reports and Business Week. Also included are searchable full text for nearly 5,000 Magill's Book Reviews, nearly 1,400 journals with images, the Essential Documents in American History database, over 1.7 million company records from Dun & Bradstreet, and much more.

MAS Ultra: School Edition [EBSCO] General periodical database that covers general reference, business, consumer health, general health, general science and multi-cultural titles. Indexing and abstracts for the New York Times and 528 other titles. Over 459 titles have PDF and ASCII full text cover-to-cover coverage for issues beginning as early as 1990.
Dropped from TexShare's core databases as of July 1, 2005; this subset interface is no longer available, however there is complete coverage of this content in Masterfile Premier.

NewsBank [Newsbank] Mostly full-text articles from Business Newsbank, San Antonio Express-News, Texas Newsfile, & Noticias en Espanol. Includes statistics from StatBank.

Project Muse [Johns Hopkins Univ. Press] Full text of articles from over 200 scholarly journals published by over 20 not-for-profit, scholarly presses in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and mathematics. Search across the entire database or limit a search to selected journals. Provides current issues for some titles in JSTOR.

Readers' Guide Retrospective [H.W. Wilson Co.] This database contains comprehensive indexing of the most popular general-interest periodicals published in the United States and reflects the history of 20th century America. The complete database covers the years 1890 through 1982. The current coverage includes the years 1963 through 1982.

Student Resource Center GOLD [GaleGroup] Aimed at High School students, this database offers award winning content based on national curriculum standards. Students can find information they need whether working from home, the classroom, or the library. Information for homework assignments, research papers and essays can be found using this database of reference materials, primary source documents, and magazines about literature, science, history and biography. Included are more than 82,000 biographies, essays, and overviews, full-text articles from more than 1,000 magazines, more than 15,000 timeline event descriptions, articles from encyclopedias and almanacs, over 15,000 photographs, maps and graphics, and much more. Searches can be made using subject, keyword, people, literature, timeline event, and by custom searches.
