ProRanger presentation

 SAN ANTONIO, TX (Aug. 9, 2012) - “What I did on my summer internship” was the hot topic of discussion today when 16 ProRanger Cadets each took the podium at San Antonio College to talk about their experiences with the National Park Service (NPS).
Among the highlights:
  George Sanchez hiked 109 miles at Rocky Mountain National Park;
  Arman Moreno received an award for his work at Sitka (Alaska) National Historic Park;
  Rosileen Ferioli gave a tour of San Juan (Puerto Rico) National Park to a group of VIPs including wives of U.S. governors; and
  Nathaniel Moreno helped rescue a troubled park visitor at Buffalo National River Park (Arkansas).

Don Usher, NPS Law Enforcement Training Center Superintendent, presented a certificate to Dr. Robert Zeigler and Dean Tim Rockey attesting that the Seasonal Law Enforcement Training Program at SAC is accredited by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation Board.

In addition, the college signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City of San Antonio.

The two-year ProRanger program is a collaborative partnership between San Antonio College and the NPS.
ProRanger provides training and professional development during the school year and paid NPS internships during the summer.

The deadline to apply for the next ProRanger cohort is Oct. 1, 2012.
