Student Advisement

Student advisements will begin Flex II. Advisement with your faculty advisor is required prior to registration for Summer or Fall. A list of faculty advisors is posted on the bulletin boards on the second floor of NAHC in the classroom area.

Faculty advisors will have specific information for scheduling advisement posted at their offices.

Pinning Ceremony Update

Pinning Ceremony Rehearsal:
Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 @ 4:45pm
Pinning Ceremony:
Thursday, May 6th, 2010, @ 7:00pm
All participating nursing students must attend the Rehearsal on May 5th and must arrive at the Pinning Ceremony at 6:30pm on May 6th.
If you are a nursing student entering the fourth level by the second flex of this spring semester, you are eligible to participate.
If you have not already done so, please contact Sarah: sarah.panchul@gmail.com to add yourself our master list.

Deadline is March 1st.

Exit HESI for March Graduates

The following activities are required for approval for graduation:

HESI Exit Test (Four testing times will be available.)

Tuesday, March 9, 8 a.m. to 12 noon or 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday, March 10, 8 a.m. to 12 noon or 1p.m. to 5 p.m.

Students should have already signed up for testing times.

Mandatory Advisement Session

For students who score less than 850 on the HESI Exit Exam

Select one session:

Tuesday March 9 at 12 noon

Wednesday March 10 at 12 noon or at 5 p.m.

No Makeup Sessions will be provided.

Evolve NCLEX Review Class (Three-day review)

March 29-31 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Application for Graduation

If you are planning to graduate in May, you must submit an application for graduation to the Office of Admissions & Records.  If you have not submitted the application for graduation, the process is as follows:

Student Liaison A new position of Student Liaison has been created for the Department of Nursing Education.  Dr. Roe Davies will assume the duties of student liaison.  Dr. Davies has been a faculty member with San Antonio College since 1995.  She currently teaches Pharmacology and Pediatrics. The purpose of the student liaison is to provide a convenient contact person for students who have questions or concerns or who have problems related to the program and need assistance with resolution.   Some of Dr. Davies’ functions will be to provide information to students about department policies, to assist with the HESI examination process, and to advise students on appropriate procedures for complaints.  Students may contact Dr. Davies in person or by email:  rdavies@alamo.edu

LATE REGISTRATION

Consensus was reached among the colleges that effective Spring 2010, late registrants (defined as students registering on or after the first day of the semester), will not be allowed to enroll in a course if that class section has already met.
