Course Description (2-0-6)

This clinical provides a health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts related to nursing care of clients with alterations in mental health. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional in a clinical setting.

This a two credit hours course taught in Semester two.

Learning Outcomes

As outlined in the learning plan, apply the theory, concepts, and skills involving specialized materials, tools, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, social, and legal systems associated with the occupation and business/industry and will demonstrate legal and ethical behavior, safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and appropriate written and verbal communication skills using the terminology of the occupation and the business/industry.

Students meet these outcomes by achieving a 70% average while planning and implementing patient care, completing process recordings and a community psychosocial project.
