a. What is my Alamo Colleges Equipment (Asset) Tag?
When Alamo Colleges receives equipment from a vendor costing $1000 or more, or equipment that meets other specific criteria, an Alamo Colleges Asses Tag (Bar Code) is placed on each piece of equipment. The Alamo Colleges Asset Tag is placed on the top and/or the back of computer CPUs.
b. What is my computer name?
Each computer system on the network is required to have a name. The name uniquely identifies a computer on the network. The naming convention is as follows: building name, room number, asset tag number.
c. How can I request a user account to San Antonio College network?
d. I forgot my password to access the San Antonio College network. What should I do?
To reset your password, please call the college helpdesk at (210) 486-0777.
e. I cannot install an application on my computer. Why?
In order to install applications you must have administrator system level privileges. If you are unable to install applications, please contact our SAC Helpdesk at (210) 486-0777 for additional assistance.
f. I cannot complete my work without additional computer permissions or privileges. How can I get additional access privileges?
If lack of administrative system privileges impacts your day to day operations, you can complete an online form to request additional administrative system privileges. Please provide a valid justification for your request . On the main page, select the forms link or click on the following link:

Complete and sign the form and fax it to (210) 486-0798.
g. I have an intern or a workstudy working in our department. Can they get their own user account?
Yes! All San Antonio College employees including work-studies, interns and other temporary employees are eligible for their own network user account. Complete the
San Antonio College Network Account Request located on our department website and fax it to 210-486-0798.
h. Can I get a generic user account for my department so multiple employees can use the same account?
No. All users must have their own unique assigned user account. Currently, generic user accounts are authorized only for use at student labs.
i. I have a new employee and they need a PALS and email account. What is the process?
When an employee is hired by Alamo Colleges, a user profile is created on the Alamo Colleges Human Resources system. Once the Human Resources system is updated, the process automatically generates the employee’s PALS and Email ID. To verify completion of this process, access the San Antonio College PALS portal and select “ 1. Click Here to obtain your PALS login User Name” link on the left navigation bar. Follow the on screen prompt to see if a PALS and an Email ID is generated for your use. If you do not have a PALS or eMail ID after a week or two of your employment, contact Alamo Colleges ITS Support Central Office at (210) 485-0555. A friendly support technician will assist you with the process.
j. I need an email account for a guest user. Is this feasible?
Yes. Department Heads can request a guest email account. Follow the link below to review procedures on how to request a guest user email account:

k. How does an account get revoked?
If you no longer require a department (group) or a guest email account, your department head should email or contact the Alamo Colleges ITS Support Central Office (210) 485-0555 to request revocation of the existing account.
