Barely a week into the new year, staff in the Outreach and Recruitment office were busy at the Tino and Millie Duran Welcome Center helping students finish the enrollment process for the Spring 2018 Semester.

On Thursday, Jan. 4, the Duran Welcome Center hosted a Ranger Registration Rally which ran from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Students who needed to complete various parts of the enrollment process were invited to stop by and get help from staff members. Financial aid help was also made available.

Nick Silva, senior coordinator in Enrollment Management who is in charge of the Duran Welcome Center, was pleased with the steady turnout for the Registration Rally. He explained that emails offering assistance had been sent to students who had started the enrollment process in December. According to Silva, several students made a point of attending the registration event in order to start San Antonio College when the semester began.

"Today has been very helpful," said Gabriella Gonzalez, who visited the Duran Welcome Center to register for classes. Gonzalez is a new college student who intends to study kinesiology. After receiving help from staff, she said she was looking forward to starting the new year attending SAC.

The first day of the Spring Semester will be Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Students interested in attending SAC this spring can still sign up for Start II and Flex II. For more information, contact the Duran Welcome Center at sac-outreach@alamo.edu  or calling 210-486-0040.
