| What is the Reading program? |
Students who do not meet the required college level reading standards are required to enroll in development reading classes. The Reading Department offers coursework in the study of reading and thinking skills essential for college success.
Students will learn general reading skills, such as literal comprehension, vocabulary development along with various critical reading and thinking skills. These skills will be applied to a variety of readings taken from the various academic disciplines.

While no degree is offered in reading, students will gain essential reading skills necessary for college level curriculum.

A variety of levels are offered to meet individual student needs. A reading lab component supports classroom instruction.
