1.   Academic / Workforce Success Council     [ Academics including Curriculum and Program Review, Transfer & Workforce ]   ( New )

Charge:   The Academic/Workforce Success Council serves in an advisory capacity and is responsible for:

  • Establishing, coordinating and overseeing processes and procedures for addressing district-wide academic and curricular
    issues/needs in order to create a seamless delivery of instruction across the colleges.
  • Assessing and recommending improvements for existing academic/workforce programs, initiatives and practices designed to increase
    academic success such as curriculum coordination, dual credit, developmental education, distance learning, and instructional innovations.
  • Coordinating the work of the Council Sub-Committees to include defining the specific charges and time lines for sub-committees;
    coordinating and tracking sub-committee activity; assessing sub-committee results; and ensuring appropriate approvals, communication and
    follow-up for Council/sub-committee recommendations.

2.   Alamo Colleges District Chairs [ formerly known as District Council of Chairs ]  ( Revised )

The Alamo Colleges District Chairs is a committee of department chairs representing all the colleges of the Alamo Community Colleges.
Members of the committee are elected by their peers and serve two year terms. The primary function of the Council is to represent
the concerns of chairs at the college and district level. Its purpose is:

  • To promote the interest of faculty and department chairs.
  • To provide input to District administration on proposed changes to District policy and procedures.
  • To coordinate activities that are of interest to department chairs at each college.
  • To appoint task force / committee members as needed.

25.   Textbook Expense Reduction Task Team   ( New )

Charge:   Formed in response to a Board of Trustees request to explore strategies for reducing student costs for textbooks, the Textbook Expense Reduction Task Team
will brainstorm and research possible strategies, consider the merit of those strategies, and then develop a recommendation for implementation. As part of this task,
the team is asked to ensure that recommendations are "doable" within existing legal, fiscal and contractual parameters.
