I have been teaching Art Appreciation at San Antonio College
since receiving a Masters of Fine Arts degree in 1981. In 1984 I
received a Masters of Anthropology degree from the University of
Texas at San Antonio. My archaeological experience includes excavations
and research on material culture in Lower Pecos are in south Texas and
The Maya in Central America. Currently, I am a candidate for
the Doctoral program at the University of Pennsylvania. My doctoral research
is concerned with aesthetic images created by incarcerated Chicanos
and their role in maintaining emotional bonds with loved ones and ties
to cultural heritage.
