b. Stepped Pyramid of Djoser, (see page 58). Discuss the architectural and material innovations see in the Stepped Pyramid. c. Pyramids at Gizeh, (see page 59). Is the pyramid form an invention inspired by a religious demand or the result of a formal evolution? Do you wonder who built the pyramids? Examine this article from the Harvard Magazine. d. Menkaure and His Wife, Queen Khamerernebty, (see page 62). Discuss the rigid formality and stereotypical gesture in this work. e. Seated Scribe (Kay?), (see page 63). Compare the relaxed physical shape of the scribe with the figure of Menkaure above. Here's a link to more information! f. Fowling Scene, from the tomb of Nebamun, (see page 72). How is this New Kingdom scene of the afterlife similar to those of the Old Kingdom? g.
