Establishing New Services
First time students who need disability resource services must complete this process.
Application Process:
- Complete a Disability Resource Center (DRC) Questionnaire.
- Return the completed Questionnaire and current disability documentation to the Norris Technical Building, Rm 100, or ITC, A-135 at SWC.
- Meet with a coordinator to review eligibility.
- If eligible, you and the service provider select accommodations.
- You deliver the Letters of Accommodations provided by DRC to your instructors.
View the Documenting Your Disability brochure here.
Note: Accommodations will be selected in a collaborative effort between you, and your service provider, however students should take a lead role in this effort. Accommodations must be requested at the beginning of the semester, each semester they are needed. The day-to-day arrangements and implementing the adjustments made to your plan is between you and your instructors.
Renewing Services
- Complete Renewal & Continuation of Services form.
- Bring in any updated documentation of your disability.
- Bring in a current printed schedule of classes.
- If needed, meet with DRC advisor for assistance or for advising questions.
- If needed, meet with DRC Coordinator to review your status and any accommodations.
- Pick up Letters of Accommodation & deliver them to your instructors. If you are taking online classes, this office will email letters to you and your instructors.
