The Counseling Services staff understands the important role faculty and staff play in the general well-being of students. We are pleased to provide several services in support of creating the best possible environment for our students:

Consultation:

Faculty and staff members are welcome to contact Counseling Services if  they notice concerning student behavior. Faculty and staff members are also encouraged to complete a SOBI report when they observe student behaviors that are disruptive, violent, or may require follow-up from Student Success personnel.

For more information, visit the Strategies of Behavioral Intervention (SOBI) page.

Remember: Contact the Alamo Colleges Police Department at 210-485-0911 if a student appears to be in immediate danger or appears to pose an immediate threat to others.

Outreach Services:

Counseling Services hosts mental health events and can arrange to present to your class or student group on a variety of topics including:

  •  Counseling Services overview
  •  Mental health of college students
  •  Sexual assault awareness
  •  Healthy relationships

Trainings and Workshops:

Counseling Services provides trainings to faculty and staff groups on topics such as an overview of Counseling Services and how to refer students to Counseling Services. Please consider a training for your next department or division meeting!

Note: Benefits-eligible Alamo Colleges District employees can seek free and confidential counseling through the Employee Assistance Program. The 24-hour helpline is 1-866-327-2400.
