Our English Lab Policies
Lab Rules
No food or drinks allowed in the Lab. Computer use is monitored and inappropriate use or visitation to inappropriate sites will disqualify a student from computer access.
Internet access is available to access e-mail, information necessary to complete an assignment, or visit the English lab Facebook account.
Open Lab
Open lab is available for students to complete online modules, make-up prior modules, get essay help, and get assistance on any other writing issue.
Making Up Lab Hours
Workshops can not be made up during open lab. It is a student’s responsibility to make up the missed time. Workshop absences can only be made up during another scheduled workshop lab, in the same week.
Module days can be made up during open lab or other scheduled time during the semester.
Scanning Flash Drives
All student flash drives must be scanned for viruses, worms, or malware prior to opening media.
To scan your flash drive, take these steps:
- Insert flash drive into the computer tower.
- Click “Start.”
- Click “My Computer.”
- Right click on your drive--usually Drive (F:) Removable Disk.
- Click on “Scan for Viruses.” The scan will start automatically.
- When the word “Completed” appears, you may close the scan window and open any document on your flash drive.
