The U.S. Department of Education & St. Philip’s College Career and Transfer Services is supporting the President’s goal to provide job training and employment workshops to college students and community members 16 - 24 years old. This summer we will conduct a series of six free professional development presentations related to various aspects of career planning and employment preparation.

Finding the Right Career
This presentation will teach you how to explore your strengths, personality, values and interests which will help to guide you toward a rewarding career.

JUNE 20TH • SW Campus Cafetorium
Letting the Resume Speak for You
The presentation will provide the tools and instructions for constructing the most effective resume to secure the desired job.

Credit Matters
This presentation will provide information on the importance of a good credit score when seeking employment and discuss misconceptions about the issue. Financial goal strategies will be offered as well.

Fullest Potential-Education Power
This presentation will provide information on the impact of obtaining an education, career building, and income earning potential over a lifespan. In addition, it addresses how important post secondary education is important for the individual, community and society as a hole.

Formally Incarcerated (Breaking the Chains)
This presentation will provide some employment guidance for formally incarcerated persons through a series of interview roll-plays. In addition they will learn how to present themselves in a job interview, market their job skills and answer the dreaded "conviction question".

Career Fair Success
Career Fairs are designed to provide job seekers a way to explore career opportunities within a variety of companies at one location. Learn how Career Fairs must be a part of your strategy when seeking employment.
