Developmental education courses are non-credit courses that do not count towards your certificate or degree. These courses provide in-depth studies and practice for the students. 

Tuition rates apply for developmental education courses. At this time, Refreshers are exempt from tuition rates.

Developmental education courses offered at all Alamo Colleges:


  • MATH 0305-Pre-Algebra
  • MATH 0310-Beginning Algebra
  • MATH 0320-Intermediate Algebra

Reading and Writing: 

  • INRW 0305-Integrated Reading and Writing
  • INRW 0420-Integrated Reading and Writing

Alamo Colleges offers developmental courses in 16 weeks and 8 weeks (Flex).


Flex and Ready, Set Go! 

You can also take developmental courses in the Ready, Set, Go! (4x12 weeks) format. This format allows you to finish two developmental courses in one semester.


Other Modular Format

Students who require MATH 0305 have the option to take it a modular format that allows them to move through pre-Algebra (0305), beginning algebra (0310) and/or intermediate algebra (0320) in 16 weeks.
