These programs, offered by the university's faculty in the College of Education, prepare professionals for success at the next level of leadership within public school settings. The faculty is committed to developing educational leaders that understand the process and conditions necessary for building and nurturing strong and healthy organizations including schools, families, and communities. Commitment to this philosophy is demonstrated with a broad-based and rigorous curriculum, experienced faculty, collaborative and supportive peer interaction, and the monitoring of students at various points in the program.
BAAS, Working Adults
The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) is designed for mature adults who need individualized academic programs and an accelerated route to a bachelor’s degree. Evening courses, as well as online and distance learning courses are available, including hybrid options. This program, as well as the two graduate programs listed below, are offered by the Occupational Education faculty, who have been working with San Antonio area students for decades.
MEd, Management of Technical Education
The Master of Education with a major in management of technical education prepares students to manage instructional personnel in an education or training environment. Graduates often become supervisors of educators or trainers in community colleges, businesses, the military, civil service or other education and training sites.
MSIS, Interdisciplinary Studies
The Master of Science with a major in interdisciplinary studies is a customized degree for mature students who have established their career objectives in business, industry, education, nonprofit agencies, or government. This unique program incorporates courses from four or more academic disciplines, giving the student a variety of intellectual viewpoints.
