Texas Is Information Technology Grant

The Texas Is Information Technology “TXIT” Grant is an initiative by the Department of Labor providing information technology training in 11 occupations at the Alamo Colleges District.

This opportunity provides you with a short career pathway which enables you to commence your career as soon as possible.

This apprenticeship opportunity is designed for individuals who are currently unemployed or underemployed and would like to pursue a career in one of the following IT areas:

  • Computer Systems Analyst
  • Information Security Analyst
  • Computer Programmers
  • Software Developers, Applications
  • Software Developers, Systems Software
  • Web Developers
  • Database Administrators
  • Network & Computer Systems Administrators
  • Computer Network Support Specialist
  • Computer Systems (all other)
  • Statisticians/Clinical Data Managers

Eligibility Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass employer background/drug test (if required)
