MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY - HITT 1005

Learn to identify, pronounce, and spell medical terms. In addition, word origin and structure will be examined through the introduction of prefixes, suffixes, root words, and plurals. Basic medical terminology used in hospital and pharmacy environments will also be explored.

PATHOPHYSIOLOGY - HPRS 2001

Enhance your knowledge! Ideal for those who want to improve their knowledge of anatomy and physiology. The course will guide you along a journey to understand how the human body operates on a daily basis and how anatomy applies to the medical record. This course would be valuable for anyone preparing for a career in any non- clinical medical profession and is strongly recommended for anyone who is preparing for an AAPC certification examination. MEDICAL INSURANCE & BILLING - HITT 1013

Get an introduction to health insurance and reimbursement as well as become familiar with the health insurance industry, legal and regulatory issues, and differences in reimbursement methodologies. Learn the principles of medical billing related to proper claim form preparation, submission and payment processing, as well as the follow- up process. This course is recommended for anyone who is preparing for a career in a medical billing department at a physician’s office, clinic, or similar positions. ICD-10-CM - POFM 2010

Overview of the guidelines and benefits of ICD- 10-CM, similarities and differences between ICD-  9  and ICD- 10. Application of basic coding rules, conventions, and guidelines. Suggested prerequisite: Medical Terminology

MEDICAL CODING & CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM - HITT 1041

Learn the structure, format, and usage of CPT, as well as its guidelines and common problems.   Get introduced to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS Level II) and Ambulatory Payment Classifications (APCs). Learn to identify different nomenclatures, coding rules, and classification systems and assign codes using the application of basic coding rules. Prerequisite: Medical Terminology

CODING CERTIFICATION EXAM REVIEW - HITT 2045

This course will walk you through the coding competencies and skills in preparation for your coding certification exam.  you will perform self-assessments of coding competencies and resolve any learning gaps. You will be able to prepare for success with your certification exam review.
