Real Estate Program
Are you interested in pursuing a challenging and rewarding career in real estate? Start your training to become a Real Estate Sales Agent! A sales agent is a person who is licensed by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) to act as an agent on behalf of a real estate broker and their clients. This program provides the 180 classroom hours of qualifying education required before you can apply to become a Sales Agent with TREC. Upon successful completion of the program, you will file an application with TREC*, submit your course completion documents, get your fingerprints taken and pass your background check. A license will not be issued if the background check has not been passed.
PRINCIPLES OF REAL ESTATE I - RELE 1002Gain the basic knowledge of real estate laws, practices, and terminology which is essential for anyone desiring to enter the field. Cover all the topics required by the Texas Real Estate License Act to be included in a principles core course, with both national and states specific content, and it illustrates the real-life applications of the concepts learned. Learn about real estate as an industry and a profession and examine the nature and characteristics of real estate closings; leasehold estates and specific provisions of lease agreements; the responsibilities and laws regarding property management; public and private land-use controls; and a basic introduction to real estate investment.

PRINCIPLES OF REAL ESTATE II - RELE 1039Principles II provides additional knowledge of real estate laws, practices, and specifically, examines value and discusses appraisal methods; the principles of mortgage financing; alternative types of financing and payment plans; government involvement in real estate financing; methods of transferring title; conveyance documents; public records; mathematical formulas used in real estate transactions, and the licensee’s role in real estate. |
LAW OF AGENCY (TEXAS SPECIFIC) - RELE 2002Learn about Law of Agency that will include, but not be limited to, the principal-agent and master-servant relationships, the authority of an agent, the termination of an agent’s authority, the fiduciary and other duties of an agent, employment law, deceptive trade practices, listing or buying representation procedures, and the disclosure of agency. |
LAW OF CONTRACTS - RELE 1012Cover the use and application of basic real estate law and promulgated contracts during real estate transactions. More specifically, explore interests in real estate, homestead issues, the various addenda and amendments that may be necessary, financing issues, and how title is conveyed. This course discusses the intricacies of leasing real estate and how to complete a sales contract. It includes a detailed walkthrough of closing, including the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) considerations and title work.

PROMULGATED CONTRACTS FORMS - RELE 1091Promulgated contract forms course shall include, but is not limited to, unauthorized practice of law, broker-lawyer committee, current promulgated and approved forms, commission rules governing the use of forms and case studies involving the use of forms. |
REAL ESTATE FINANCE (TEXAS SPECIFIC) - RELE 1020Monetary systems, primary and secondary money markets, sources of mortgage loans, federal government programs, loan applications, processes and procedures, closing costs, alternative financial instruments, equal credit opportunity laws affecting mortgage lending, Community Reinvestment Act, and the state housing agency.
