A student who is a high school or home school graduate or has obtained a GED

Financing your students’ education

College tuition doesn’t have to put a hole in your pocket.

The Alamo Colleges District provides a variety of financial aid options for students.


The Alamo Colleges Foundation Scholarship offers many different scholarships for students. Scholarships are awarded to students who have met certain requirements and do not have to be paid back.  


A Federal Pell Grant is a need-based grant awarded to students who qualify and have not earned a bachelor’s or professional degree. Federal Pell Grants do not have to be repaid.


Work-study is a need-based program that provides students paid work opportunities with the Alamo Colleges while enrolled in courses.


A Federal Direct Loan is an educational loan provided through the federal government. They include subsidized and unsubsidized loans for students and PLUS loans for parents and students. Loans are required to be paid back.
