The Grow with Google Certificate Program is an initiative by Google to provide training and certification in high-demand digital skills, such as data analytics, project management, IT support, UX design, and more. 

The program is designed for individuals looking Upskill their career trajectory by acquiring practical skills in digital technology, whether they are beginners or have some prior knowledge.

An Alamo Colleges District alumni is someone who graduated and earned a certificate or degree from one of the five colleges in the Alamo Colleges District.

The duration varies depending on the specific certificate, but they generally take 3 to 6 months to complete with under 10 hours of flexible study per week. 

There are typically no prerequisites for Google Professional Certificates, making them accessible to learners of all backgrounds. 

This is at no cost to Alamo Colleges employees, currently enrolled students, and alumni that earned a degree or certificate at one of the Colleges. Without this Alamo Colleges benefit, Google Career Certificates would cost $59 per month on Coursera.

Yes. You will have access to all Grow with Google content for six months. During that time, you may work on multiple certificates and complete as many courses or certificates as you’d like within your 6-month access period.
 

The program typically consists of video lectures, hands-on labs, quizzes, assignments, and projects to ensure a well-rounded learning experience. 

Within the learning platform, learners can access the Learner Help Center. Of course, if further assistance is required, learners can contact the Skills Lab by emailing dst-skillslab@alamo.edu.

Google's certificates are recognized by many employers and can be an asset when applying for jobs. Based on certificate graduate surveys in 2022, 75% of certificate graduates report a positive career outcome (e.g., new job, promotion, or raise) within six months of completion.

No! Whether you’re completely new to the field or have some exposure, this is the right option for you. If you’re already familiar with the subject matter, you can skip directly to the graded assessments. 

Google Certificates are completely online, so there’s no need to attend a classroom in person. You can access your instructional videos, readings and assignments anytime and anywhere via the web or mobile. 

Graduates of the program can pursue careers in IT support, data analysis, project management, UX design, and other tech-related fields. Career resources are available to Certificate graduates through Google including interview tips, mock interview and resume-building workshops, coaching sessions, and more. The Google Career Certificates Employer Consortium is an exclusive job platform where Certificate completers can access entry-level job opportunities from over 150 U.S. companies like Deloitte, Infosys, Snap Inc., Target, Verizon, and of course, Google. *This does not guarantee positions at Alamo Colleges District.
