National Homeless Youth Awareness Month

November is National Homelessness Youth Awareness Month a time to acknowledge those children and families experiencing homelessness. Join us as Palo Alto College's S.H.A.R.E Center hosts events this week to raise awareness and inform students about the available resources on campus.

Schedule

Blanket Drive

Nov. 1-30

The Palomino P.R.I.D.E. student organization, in collaboration with the S.H.A.R.E. Center, will host a month-long blanket drive in alignment with National Homeless Youth Awareness Month. All donations will be collected and shared with THRIVE Youth Center, a non-profit organization that serves the homeless LGBTQ+ community in San Antonio.

  • Student Life – SC 101

  • Athletics Office – SC 124

  • Lobby of Rio Grande Building

All items must be new and in unopened packaging. Other items needed include towels and pillows.

Goat Shenanigans

Join us for a mental health break and interact with baby goats. This activity serves as a stress-relieving technique to promote mental health and well-being.

Annual Resource Fair

Fifteen community partners from agencies all over San Antonio will be on campus to provide students, faculty, and staff with information on their programs and how their organization can help meet the needs of our PAC Community.

Door prizes will be given away every half hour starting at 11:30 a.m.

Turkey Giveaway at Pop-Up Market

Palo Alto College and the San Antonio Food Bank are hosting a Pop-Up Market to provide healthy food to students, employees, and the surrounding community through this drive-through event. All participants must register in advance via FreshTrak.com. If you cannot register online, please call the San Antonio Food Bank at 210-431-8326 to register.

Distribution will run until supplies last. The first 100 families will receive a turkey.
