Raza Heritage Month 
Opening Ceremony 

Raza Heritage Month will officially kickoff with a presentation by
scholar, activist, and poet Dr. Christopher Carmona titled
"Resilience in a Time of Terror: Writing El Rinche and the Telling of the Unrecorded History of the Matanza, 1910-1920"

Plus a performance by the SAC Mariachi group Estrellas Del Alamo.

Raza Heritage Month essay contest:
To celebrate RHM 18, students are invited to participate in an essay contest.
The topic is “You Can’t Cage a DREAM: U.S. Immigration Policies.”
Essays will be eligible for three monetary prizes. Deadline for submission is Thursday, Oct. 18. For more information, download the essay guidelines.
