Phi Theta Kappa – Beta Sigma Delta Chapter

The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.

Phi Theta Kappa Beta Sigma Delta’s mission is two-fold:

  1. Recognize and encourage the academic achievement of Northeast Lakeview College students and;
  2. Provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming

Membership in Phi Theta Kappa is a permanent recognition of your hard work and academic achievement. That is why membership in Phi Theta Kappa is a special honor. Your membership will be recognized by colleges, universities, and potential employers. What are the qualifications?
Membership is based on superior academic achievement and is conferred only by invitation of the Beta Sigma Delta Chapter of Northeast Lakeview College. You must have completed at least twelve college hours with a minimum cumulative 3.5 grade point average (developmental course grades cannot be applied toward this GPA). Be in good standing with NLC and adhere to the moral standards of the society. Complete the one time payment of $95 for the life time membership.

Scholarship Opportunities:
FALL COMMON APPLICATION: If you plan to graduate with your associate degree or transfer to a four-year college or university at the end of this academic year, you do not want to miss this opportunity! Nearly $350,000 will be awarded through scholarships on the Fall Common Scholarship Application. The scholarships offered on the Fall Common Application include; Hites Transfer Scholarship, Guistwhite Scholarship Program, GEICO Pathway to Completion Baccalaureate Scholarship, All-USA Community College Academic Team, Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team, Coca-Cola New Century Scholars, and All-State Community College Academic Team.
