The Alamo Colleges District has been selected as one of ten exceptional organizations that are finalists for the San Antonio Business Journal’s (SABJ) 2019 Business of the Year.

These finalists will be honored at the SABJ Book of Lists Gala on February 13, where SABJ will unveil the top winner.

The college district is one of many San Antonio-area businesses which have seen remarkable success over the past year. Highlights include the opening of the DSO building near The Pearl, the launch of AlamoPROMISE, which aims to bridge the gap between financial aid and the cost of tuition and fees at the district’s five colleges and the district’s recognition as the only community college district to ever win the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

The Book of Lists Gala, the newspaper’s annual premier black-tie event, is a way to mark the end of the year by celebrating those businesses. This year's gala will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 13 at the Jack Guenther Pavilion at The Briscoe.

Besides revealing the Business of the Year, the gala celebrates all the local businesses — along with their CEOs, presidents, and owners — that made the annual Book of Lists, which can be bought here.
