Fiesta events across the Alamo Colleges District

Mark your calendar for some Fiesta fun across the Alamo Colleges District. When it comes to Fiesta time, the Alamo Colleges is home to three officially sanctioned Fiesta events. This year, we’re adding to our Fiesta fun, with the announcement that the San Antonio College campus will serve as the new forming area for the two largest street parades: The Battle of the Flowers and the Fiesta Flambeau.

To make things easy, we’ve rounded up a list of our family-friendly events that feature a tasty rib cook off, live music, mariachis, and lots of fun in between.
College Events
Thursday, April 7 Noon – 10 p.m. Palo Alto College, 1400 W. Villaret Blvd. PACfest, an official Fiesta® San Antonio event since 2003, will feature live music from co-headliners, Michael Salgado and David Lee Garza, food, a Kids Game Zone, an interactive social media alley and a memorable firework show to end the night. PACfest is presented by Bud Light and is sponsored by Vara Chevrolet, AARP, Brooks, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the University of Texas at San Antonio and Whataburger. $10 per person, free for children ages 12 and under Free with a current Alamo Colleges District ID Parking is free all day |
St. Philip's College CultureFest and Rib Cook-Off Thursday, April 7 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. St. Philip’s College, 1801 Martin Luther King Drive St. Philip's College has hosted the CultureFest since 1995. CultureFest celebrates the rich heritage of San Antonio and cultural influences of St. Philip's College as one of San Antonio's most historically distinguished and ethnically diverse institutions of higher learning. The event will feature entertainment from the Sam Houston Hurricane Marching Band, folklorico dancers, a car show and a tasty rib cook off. Proceeds from CultureFest help fund student scholarships. Friday, April 8 2 – 10 p.m. San Antonio College Longwith Radio, Television, and Film Building, 121 W. Courtland Place Fredstock, now in its 13th year, is an annual block party and music festival organized and presented by the students of the Music Business Program at San Antonio College. This year’s event will feature all your Fiesta food favorites and live music from Pinata Protest, Honey Bunny, The Chris Cuevas Project and more. Proceeds from Fredstock Music Fest will fund music business program scholarships. Free event. |
Bonus Events
The Texas Cavaliers River Parade Monday, April 4 7 p.m. San Antonio River Walk The Alamo Colleges will also be represented at The Texas Cavaliers River Parade. The event will be located along the beautiful banks of the San Antonio River Walk. Proceeds of the parade benefit over 70 children’s charities every year and over 1,200 service men and women, 1,200 first responders and 800 children are invited to attend for free. This year, the Alamo Colleges float will be Texas Backyard BBQ themed! Make sure to stake out your spot along the River Walk to watch our vibrant float, or catch the parade on KSAT. Saturday, April 9 7:10 - 10:30 p.m. Downtown San Antonio The Alamo Colleges and Palo Alto College will both take part for the first time this year in the largest illuminated night parade and what’s known as the highlight of Fiesta. The annual parade attracts over 750,000 street spectators and has a 1.5 million television audience. Catch our students take part in the parade by purchasing tickets in advance or watch the parade live on KSAT. The 2022 Fiesta Flambeau Parade will celebrate with “Celebrating Literary Classics” as the parade theme. Tickets prices vary and are available for purchase online |
