Dr. Chantae Recasner, Dean for Academic Success
As Dean for Academic Success, Dr. Chantae Recasner oversees Distance Education, Dual Credit, Library Services, Instructional Innovation Centers, and Academic Support Centers. Dr. Recasner joins Northeast Lakeview College after spending 11 years at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College and 16 months at Austin Community College. At Cincinnati State, she was a tenured Professor of English and Literature, served as Coordinator of Dual Credit for English, and served as the college’s inaugural Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning. Her experience in higher education also includes 8 years of service as a Consultant-Evaluator for the Higher Learning Commission, and she is currently an Academic Reviewer for SACSCOC. She has held various leadership positions in professional organizations including multiple Board offices for the National Council on Black American Affairs (an affiliate organization of the American Association of Community Colleges) and college representative for the ACE Council of Women in Ohio. Dr. Recasner has completed the Civitas Next Generation Leadership Academy and the NCBAA Leadership Development Institute
Dr. Chantae Recasner has a BA in English from Loyola University New Orleans, where she also received Louisiana Teacher Certification for secondary instruction in both English and Social Studies. She went on to earn the following graduate degrees from The Ohio State University: a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning, a Master of Arts in African American and African Studies, and a Master of Business in Operational Excellence with Greenbelt Six Sigma certification. She completed her Ph.D. in Educational Studies with a focus on Cultural Studies and post-secondary pedagogy at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio.
