About Dr. Jennifer Parrott

Dr. Jennifer Parrott is the daughter of an Air Force Colonel (Retired) and was raised all over the US; from Honolulu, HI to Washington DC. She attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and earned her BS in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology. Dr. Parrott earned her Ph.D. locally at the UT Health Science Center then moved to Sacramento, CA for a 1-year postdoctoral position at the UC Davis Health Center. Currently, she is a Visiting Scientist at the UT Health Science Center where she researches inflammation and how it impacts autism.

Dr. Parrott has just joined the Natural Sciences & Kinesiology department as a Biology Instructor where she teaches Biology for Science Majors and Non-Science Majors. Dr. Parrott has always been passionate about learning and even more so about sharing with others her passion and knowledge. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting, spending time with her family/dogs, and riding her sister’s bike.
