What is the Computer Programming program?

Computer science is the study of processing information using computers. Students study the design, development and analysis of software and hardware used to solve problems.

What will I learn?

Students will learn the fundamental concepts in computer science as well as parts of the computer and other functions. Computer science courses introduce students to the principles of systematic problem solving through programming and the basic rules of computation.

What can I do with this course of study?

Computer science courses prepare students for transfer to a university to pursue a Bachelor’s degree.  With the proper credentials, students can pursue careers such as:

  • Computer programmer
  • Software engineer
  • Systems analyst
  • Application developer
  • PC specialist
  • Microcomputer application specialist

 What's special about program?

This field continues to evolve quickly, reflecting changes in technology and new areas of specialization, as well as the changing practices of employers
