Enrollment is limited in all of our camps/classes to ensure a quality learning experience for everyone involved.

We encourage you to register early.


How to Register:

Step 1

Choose your classes and then pay for them by visiting the link below:

Please keep in mind, Registration Forms may be submitted in advance; however, ENROLLMENT IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED. You will receive confirmation of payment via email.

A student may purchase several weeks of camps (or classes) in one-transaction, OR may purchase camps/classes individually week-to-week. All camps/classes have a limited number of seats and may fill quickly!

Registration and payment for each camp/class will close at midnight on the Monday prior to start date. 

Tuition includes a $25 non-refundable processing fee.

Any registration cancellation prior to the 1st day of camp/class will receive a refund minus the non-refundable fee.

Registration cancellations on the 1st day of camp (or thereafter) do not qualify for any refund. Camps/classes canceled by the College due to low enrollment are eligible for 100% refund.

Payment must be made/received at least 1 week BEFORE camp/class start date.  

Step 2

Download the NVC Community Education Registration Form to your computer. 

  • Clicking on the link will download the file to your Downloads folder.
  • You can also right-click the link and choose Download Linked File Asto save it to a specific folder on your computer.

To open the file, you will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader program. If you don't have it, you can download and install it here:

  • Open the file. 
  • Key data in all required fields to complete the form
  • Save the file Adobe Acrobat Reader by going to File>Save As.  
  • Assign a new name for saving to your computer (add the participant's initials at the end of the file, e.g. if your child's name is John William Smith, save the file as "form-registration-jws.pdf"). 

Attach the new file (e.g. form-registration-jws.pdf) to an email.

All camps take place on our beautiful Northwest Vista College campus at 3535 N. Ellison Drive, San Antonio, TX 78251.

Office of Community Education Staff: Mountain Laurel Hall (MLH) room 234.

Doors open at 7:30 am for before camp drop off and after care pick-up as late as 5:30 pm in Pecan Hall (PH) room 101.

No parking permit is necessary in order to park on the Northwest Vista College campus. You are welcome to park anywhere you can locate a legal parking space.

1. What are the ages/grade ranges for summer camp/classes?

Northwest Vista College Community Education offers various summer camps/classes for youth ages 6-18 and grades 1-12.

2. What are the camp hours and weeks of operation?

Camp Hours:

Camps begin at 8:30am and end at 4:30pm. Drop-off and pick-up takes place in Pecan Hall (PH) room 101.

For an additional fee, campers can participate in our early drop-off and/or late pick-up programs. 

Early drop off time is between 7:30am - 8:15am for $5.00 per week/per child.

Late pick-up is between 4:45pm - 5:30pm for $5.00 per week/per child.

Payment for early drop off and/or late pick up must be made at time of camp purchase.

Weeks of Operation:

Summer 2018 camps begin the week of June 11 and the last camp will be offered the week of August 20.

4. Is there any opportunity for early drop off/pick-up/visitation?

For an additional fee, campers can participate in our Early Drop-Off and/or our Late Pick-Up programs:

  • Camp Early Drop Off (between 7:30am - 8:15am) is $5 per week/per child.

  • Camp Late Pick Up (between 4:45pm - 5:30pm) is $5 per week/per child.

6. What should my child wear/bring/ or not bring to summer camp?

What to wear:

Campers should wear comfortable summer wear and closed toe shoes.

What to bring: Ages 6-12:

Only a morning snack is provided. Therefore, students must bring a brown bag lunch and are encouraged to bring a snack for afternoon break session. Students should bring water bottles each day. Please label ALL drink bottles (including water) with your child's name.

What to bring: Middle & High School Workshops:

Students have the option of bringing a brown bag lunch or purchasing a lunch in our cafeteria. The campus cafeteria offers a wide selection of items. Instructors and staff are on hand during the lunch hour to assist and supervise. Please label ALL drink bottles (including water) with your child's name.

What not to bring:

Students should NOT bring games, toys, stuffed animals, action figures, trading cards, electronic devices (such as: iPod, iPad, tablets, DS, etc.). Money and other valuables should be left at home. Northwest Vista College Community Education will not be held liable for any loss or damage of any personal belongings.

7. What are the Behavior Expectations of the camp?

Students are expected to be respectful and courteous to one another and all staff members, participate fully in the camp program, observe the camp rules, and respect the campus facilities.

Program participants and staff are expected to abide by all Northwest Vista College and Alamo Colleges District regulations and may be removed from the program for non-compliance of rules.

Students must abide by the following program rules:

1. The possession or use of alcohol and other drugs, fireworks, guns and other weapons is prohibited.

2. The operation of a motor vehicle by minors is prohibited while attending and participating in the program.

3. Rules and procedures governing when and under what circumstances participants may leave Northwest Vista College property during the program.

4. No violence will be tolerated.

5. Hazing and/or bullying of any kind is prohibited, including verbal, physical, and cyber.

6. No theft or use of tobacco products will be tolerated. (smoking is prohibited in all Alamo Colleges District buildings)

7. Misuse or damage of College property is prohibited.

8. The inappropriate use of cameras, imaging, and digital devices is prohibited in areas where privacy is expected by participants, such as restrooms.

Behavioral problems will be handled as follows:

First Incident - Warning and discussion with student.

Second Incident - Discussion with parent/guardian and student.

Third Incident - Student will be withdrawn from the program and the parent/guardian will be contacted to pick up the child immediately. No refund will be given.

8. Who are the Teachers and Staff?

Staff instructors are a mix of approved and certified local school teachers, NVC faculty instructors, and industry professionals. Our team of administrative assistants are NVC staff. All have been vetted and background checked.

We also partner with local service program providers who employ youth workers to assist our teachers with classroom activities. These youth workers are always supervised by teachers or NVC staff while they are in the presence of campers.

9. What are your supervision procedures?

Our staff members supervise campers throughout their entire day on campus. All campers and students on campus who are under the age of 18 are considered minors thus, during the day, campers are escorted and supervised to and from all destinations.

Adult camp staff are responsible for the supervision of campers during the entire lunch hour. Campers are not permitted to leave their classroom without supervision by instructors and/or adult camp staff.

Additionally, campers are not allowed to leave the campus for any reason without written permission from their parents/guardians.

10. What if my child takes medication?

Northwest Vista College Kid’s Summer Camp program officials may dispense over-the-counter or prescription medications and/or topical antibiotic creams, sunscreen and insect repellents to participants under the following conditions:

  • Parents/Guardians must provide written permission and instructions for any medications taken during the program by any student under the age of 18.

  • The student’s family must provide the medicine in its original pharmacy container labeled with the student’s name, medicine name, dosage and timing of consumption.

  • Over-the-counter medications must be provided in their manufacturers’ container.

  • Staff will keep the medicine in a secure location, and at the appropriate time for distribution shall meet with the camper.

  • Staff members will allow the camper to self-administer the appropriate dose as shown on the container.

  • If a camper is not able to self-administer medication, then arrangements for the administration of any medicine must be conducted by a parent/guardian.

  • Personal “epi” pens and inhalers may be carried by the student during all camp activities and can be self-administered.

Parents/Guardians are required to complete the Medical Information section of the registration form for each student. A copy of this information will remain with the staff and instructor at all times. Parents are encouraged to share any special issues that the program director and instructors should be aware of (diet restrictions, learning challenges, behavioral challenges, etc.)

11. What if my child gets sick during camp?

If your child complains of being sick we will allow the child to rest for a 10-15 minute period at one of our lunch tables. If after that period they are not feeling any better we will contact you. Therefore, it is important that you provide us with up-to-date information and phone numbers.

NOTE: Please do not send your child to camp if he or she is sick. We know how difficult it is to make last minute plans for a sick child, but it is essential that your child receive the right care, and it is critically important that we keep others from being infected. We try to keep everyone healthy!

12. How can I contact my child during camp?

If you need to contact your child for any reason during the camp day, please contact the Community Education/Camp Office at 210-486-4428 or 210-486-4407.

13. Is financial assistance available?

At this time, we do not have any financial assistance available for our camps/classes nor are any discounts offered.

14. What is the refund and cancellation policy?


If you need to cancel or withdraw from a camp, please notify our office five days prior to the first day of camp. No refunds will be given after a camp begins. Please call 210-486-4907.

Registration cancellations prior to the 1st day of camp/class will receive a refund minus the non-refundable fee, $25.00.

Registration cancellations on the 1st day of camp (or thereafter) do not qualify for any refund.

If an entire camp/class is cancelled by the College, parents will receive 100% refund.

If a portion of the camp week/day is cancelled by the college, a prorated amount will be refunded for any lost time exceeding 1 hour.

College Class/Camp Cancellation

Northwest Vista College reserves the right to cancel or postpone any camp due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. If a camp is cancelled by the College, registrants will be notified immediately and registration fee refunds will be processed.

15. How can I found out about inclement weather and other school closings?

We understand that our decision to open or close camp in bad weather has a big effect on families however, as always our top priority is the safety of our campers.

16. What are the summer camp safety/first aid/emergency procedures?

Protecting our campers is our number one priority on campus. That means being ready for the unexpected. We are continually reassessing our safety practices to ensure an enjoyable experience by all.

All classrooms are equipped with basic first aid kits and the camp staff is trained in basic first aid procedures. During any issue involving injury, parents/guardians will be notified immediately. Northwest Vista College does not have a nurse on campus during the summer, however all campus security officers, as well as, numerous campus officials are first aid/CPR/AED trained and certified. Our campus is located less than a mile from Christus Santa Rosa Hospital.

In the event of an illness or injury that would require more extensive evaluation, every reasonable attempt will be made to contact the parent/guardian.

Please note that Northwest Vista College does not provide medical insurance to cover emergency care or medical treatment of your child.

17. Do you accept special needs children?

Northwest Vista College does not discriminate against any child with special needs. We encourage qualified individuals with disabilities to participate in our programs and activities.

If you have a child who requires special care,

  • Arrange to meet with the meet with the Community Education Program Manager at least 6 weeks prior to enrollment to determine if our camp setting is appropriate.
  • If appropriate, submit in writing, the information involving special accommodations at least one month prior to the start of the camp for which you are registering your child. 

All information is confidential and revealed only to the necessary staff and health professionals. Parents are encouraged to share any special issues that the program director and instructors should be aware of (diet restrictions, learning challenges, behavioral challenges, etc.).
