Bio:
Like you, I started my higher education journey at a community college. From there, I went on to complete my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Psychology at TAMU-CC. I worked in the field as a psychological assistant and mental health consultant for a few years before becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). With those licenses, I worked in a variety of settings over the years including public schools and private practice with children of all ages. Somewhere along the way, I picked up an adjunct (part-time) teaching job because I thought it sounded interesting and would be a fun way to earn some extra money. Little did I realize that it would completely change my professional course. I fell in love with teaching and helping students achieve their goals. I got a full-time position with TAMU-CC, where I taught undergraduate and graduate courses for several years. After my family relocated to San Antonio, I joined the NVC family. It's been about three years and the rest is history. I love the people, smaller class sizes, and the ability to make meaningful connections with students as they are just beginning their own journey. I have worked hard but feel incredibly lucky to be able to do what I do every day. The journey is sometimes difficult and confusing, but having a team of advisors and mentors along the way is priceless. I wouldn't be where I am today without the wonderful people who helped me in my journey.
