The English and Reading Advocate, Dawna Upshaw, is located in the WAC Lab (RLC 205, on the second floor of the library). Dawna offers additional support for students in ESL, INRW and English 1301 Plus students. She will be here to help you to clarify an assignment, complete an assignment, and will empower you to actively improve with each new assignment throughout the semester. Additionally, Dawna can help you communicate better with your instructor and navigate your INRW or 1301 Plus Canvas shell. She can also help you organize a study plan, set and follow-up with academic goals, plan out your next semester, and help with degree and transfer plans.
If you are thinking about dropping an INRW or ENGL 1301 Plus course for any reason, please visit with the English and Reading Advocate in RLC 205 also. To drop a course in any other discipline, please contact that Academic Area/Department or Enrollment Services for help. See below for more details about Drop Counseling Services. During a session with the English and Reading Advocate, you can help determine if dropping the course is the best solution for you. Even if you think there may be no way to avoid dropping, there may be a way for you to still remain in the course, catch up with missed material, or in rare cases, transition to another course or take an "I" in the course.
