Support After New Student Orientation

Your support doesn't end after New Student Orientation! There are several resources available to you before your first classes begin and after you become a current student.

  • Assigned Certified Advisor

    You will received an assigned Certified Advisor based on the NVC Institute you selected. Check your ACES email a few weeks after classes begin. You'll receive an email from your advisor, who will introduce themselves and send you a link to their calendar so that you can make an appointment with them.

    This advisor will be your go-to person for degree planning and questions on majors, and they can connect you with multiple resources to help you as you prepare to search for jobs or transfer to a four-year university.

    Pay For Your Classes On Time

    Students who do not pay for their courses by the payment deadline (always a Sunday at 1 p.m.) will be dropped from courses!

    Check Your ACES Email

    Now that you are a current student, all communication from the Alamo Colleges District will be sent to your student email. Nothing will be sent to your personal email address anymore. Be sure to check it at least once per day for helpful notices and reminders from:

    • Financial Aid
    • Business Office
    • Your Certified Advisor
    • Student Life
    • and more!
