Emily Madonia, violin
Madonia began studying the violin at age three in Anchorage, Alaska. After winning the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Young Artist’s Concerto Competition at age eighteen, she went on to earn a B.M. in violin performance from the Eastman School of Music in 2006. Prominent teachers include: Beverly Beheim, Therese Fetter, Fred Halgedahl, Mikhail Kopelman and Zvi Zeitlin. She has appeared as soloists with the Laredo Philharmonic, and has given numerous solo recitals. Emily has been a member of the Marini String Ensemble, Quartsemble and currently performs with Terra Vista Strings, Third Floor Music, Avalon Strings and Divisi Strings. She has taught chamber music at the Hochstein School, Eastman Community School and maintains a private studio in Houston. She also performs with the Corpus Christi, Victoria, and Kingsville Symphony Orchestras and Houston Grand Opera.
