The President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA): for clubs & organizations

Club Service Award

NVC values your club/organization's dedication in serving the community. Service performed with your club/organization at NVC will be listed on your official Experience Transcript. We recognize NVC registered clubs and organizations who serve through The President's Volunteer Service Award- for Club Service Award.


NVC clubs and organizations are eligible for the NVC Community Service Award.

  • Recipient(s) must be currently enrolled in Northwest Vista College
  • Awards are issued for service hours served while enrolled at NVC
  • Awards are issued for service hours served within a 12-month time period
  • Submissions must include an upload of official documentation (letterhead or certificate) from the organization that you served with; indicating your name, date of service, total hours served, and contact information for the organization
  • Service must be with an organization that is legally established in the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or one of the territories.

Types of service that are not eligible:

  • Donating funds
  • Political lobbying (Non-partisan voter registration is an eligible activity)
  • Religious instruction
  • Conducting worship service
  • Proselytizing
  • Volunteer service performed as part of court-ordered community service
  • Serving only family members


Completed 200 or more hours of service to the community within a 12 month period. You must also be currently enrolled NVC student or a current NVC staff/faculty member at the time of application.

* Must be a minimum of at least two members, with each   member contributing at least 25 hours toward the total


How to Apply:

First: Members complete community service and submit their documentation.  Minimum combined service hours for the club is 200 hours. Minimum members that contribute to the total hours is 2. Minimum hours per contributing member is 25 hours.

Second: Submit NVC Serves Club Service Award application. You will need to submit the name and Banner ID# of each contributing member. Each contributing member must have a minimum of 25 community service hours listed on their Experience Transcript. 

 NVC SERVES Club Service Award Application

Applications are typically due by November for Fall or April for Spring. Official dates for 2021-2022 Academic year are currently pending- TBA. Service needs to be performed and documented on or before the application due date in order to receive your award in the semester that it is submitted.
