English as a Second Language (ESL)

The English as a Second Language (ESL) program at Northwest Vista College is designed to help English language learners including international students, immigrants, and residents build the language skills necessary to achieve their academic, professional and personal goals. Our classes offer a very diverse and caring learning environment. The ESL program has helped students from 53 different countries, ranging in age from 18 and up. Many of our students are professionals in their country of origin, and many have received a college education.

In addition to our Level 1 – 6 classes, we also offer courses which target specific skill areas such as pronunciation, reading and writing, business English and TOEFL preparation. These additional classes prepare motivated ESL students to pursue their goals by targeting the areas they most need to improve.
