The Veterans Center is conducted on a walk-in basis. In order to avoid long waits, it is recommended you come in early to certify classes. All certifications are handled based on the order it was received. Once it has been processed, enrollment verification is submitted to the VA Regional Office in Muskogee, OK.
Our VA Advisors are always available to advise and assist veteran students while simultaneously working to submit your certification in a timely manner. However the process on NVC's end plus additional time for the Regional Office to process your benefits and payment can take anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks to finalize.
We encourage all new students and first time benefit users at the colleges of the Alamo Colleges District to view the VistaVET Workshop and Hazlewood Act Presentation so as to familiarize themselves with some of the basic office processes of the Vet Center.
In order to avoid delays in payment, it is imperative to report any necessary schedule changes, withdrawals, or canceled classes immediately to your VA Advisor.
