Let’s Chalk About Mental Health

Date: September 30 - October 2
Location Sidewalk between and around Juniper Hall, the Library (RLC), and the lake
Organizers: Active Minds (Student Org), The Art Club
Event Highlights:
- Creative Expression: Use the provided sidewalk chalk to create inspiring messages, share mental health facts, and contribute to a vibrant collaborative art piece.
- Resource Booths: Explore valuable information on mental health services, including TimelyCare, a free 24-hour counseling service available this fall.
- Community Engagement: Connect with students, faculty, and staff to reduce stigma, promote open dialogue, and build a supportive campus community.
Join us for a vibrant and uplifting Mental Health Chalk Event! Experience the power of creativity with stunning art installations and interactive chalk art designed to inspire and support mental well-being. Let's color our world with hope and connection—come be a part of this unique celebration of mental health through art!
Chalk will be provided—come ready to create, connect, and celebrate!

Join us for the Mental Health Scholastic Book Fair, presented by the NVC Student Advocacy Center and STEM Plus Center in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. Explore a diverse selection of FREE books focused on mental well-being, personal growth, and children's books.

Oct. 16 - Día De Los Muertos Wisdom of Elders

Date: October 16 from 11AM-1PM
Location: Pecan Hall RM 120
Organizers: Active Minds (Student Org), Plus+STEM
Description:
Discover the history and culture of Día de los Muertos with our Community Guest Speaker. Everyone is welcome to create an ofrenda (offering altar) with us. Bring a photo or memento of a loved one to honor their memory. Enjoy refreshments and participate in a Q&A session following the event.

Join us for a rejuvenating 2-hour Spa Day as NVC celebrates Mental Health Awareness Month this October. Enjoy ultimate relaxation with spa water, massage chair attachments, and self-care goodie bags. Take this opportunity to unwind, recharge, and focus on your well-being.

Oct. 30 - Día de Los Muertos Ofrenda Making Event

Description:
Join us for a heartfelt and creative celebration as we come together to create beautiful ofrendas in honor of our loved ones. This event is a wonderful opportunity to participate in the rich tradition of Día de Los Muertos, a time to remember and celebrate those who have passed.
Materials Provided: We will supply all the materials needed to create your ofrenda.
What to Bring: Please bring a photo of your loved one to include on your ofrenda.
Enjoy light snacks and drinks while you craft your tribute. The completed altars will be on display throughout Día de los Muertos, allowing everyone to share in the remembrance and celebration.
We look forward to seeing you there and honoring our cherished memories together!
